Hello, Friend
Today’s Mornings with Madge is a bit of a quandary, a dilemma if you will. I’m honestly not sure what I’m going to do, but I do have to decide today because this is the last day to decide. I left Meta Platforms a month ago, and I’m deciding today if I want to keep any presence there at all moving forward, it’s the last day before my accounts disappear forever.
I take some comfort in knowing that I’m not alone in this moment. Anyone who has been paying attention to the noise around the incoming administration, beyond the misdirection and constant chaos, in what they’ve spoken out loud, the players involved, and the playbook that was shared, knows that things could get pretty weird. By weird I mean possibly dark, dangerous, and dystopian. But we don’t know if things will hold or the dam will burst.
I think a lot of us are here in this space on Substack because we feel it is the best place to be as we head into the Brave New World, but we also know that there are no ‘safe’ digital spaces, really. The FBI is telling us to stop texting on our phones and even encrypted messaging platforms because they’re all compromised, apparently. So, that’s comforting.
What a weird timeline we’re in, huh?
Whee.
