Party Sheep

and a Weird Story
9

Hello, Friend,

Some days I write epic tomes, other days I make party sheep. That’s how it is around these parts. I make no apologies. I’m a woman of many facets and shades of pink lipstick.

That’s my story and I’m sticking with it.

I spent the weekend working on a fresh batch of hand-painted Margot Potter Studios cards for my good friend Drew Emborsky’s upscale Yarn Emporium The Bear and Fox Yarn Den in Allegan, Michigan. I was surprised how hard it was to concentrate on making art, as it’s been a moment. I’ve been feeling so unsettled lately with writing about the relentless autocratic creep five days a week. Last night my subconscious decided to give me a swift kick in my sassy ass to remind me that you can’t stare into the abyss all day every day. We can’t lose our joy and wonder to the darkness, there has to be a little balance, friend.

“A little nonsense now and then, is relished by the wisest men. (and women)

Willy Wonka, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

You may or may not know that a lot of the quotes from Wonka are literary and historical references. This one may go all the way back to Horace in ancient Rome around 8 BC. (It’s one of my favorite quotes from my favorite movie. The original, with Gene Wilder.)

Enjoy a weird story and a flirty flock of Margot Potter Studios Party Sheep. Next up Party Bears and Party Foxes. I don’t sell these direct because the cost to ship a blank card is too high to make it worthwhile. but if you’re ever in Allegan, Michigan go visit Bear and Fox Yarn Den and tell Drew Madge sent ya.

Hey! If you enjoyed this nonsense, you can subscribe and never miss another riveting post!

If you’re feeling the love, you can buy your stalwart writer a cup of coffee!
