Spot on, Margo! It seems many of us don’t realize yet that things have changed and the democratic rules and honorable norms of society are no longer functioning. Like they say, you can’t bring a knife to a gun fight. Heck, the Dems don’t even have a knife. They seem to be trying to fight this with a haughty attitude. That ain’t gonna work. The sooner we all wake up, the better. My eyes are open and it is very, very painful and horribly scary. But I’m not going to walk peacefully to the gallows as I preach to everyone that I took the high road.

Yes! We have to get it together and fast because this is not a drill!

Hoping your throat behaves itself soon and glad you can still use your voice through writing.

Many of us seem to be "dispairalyzed". Raising my hand* because I'm just not sure how to work against their powerful machine. Yes, we can read and support the critically thinking writers and truthful journalists, but it's hard to see how that will be enough. Politicians appear to pay no heed to letters or mass demonstrations. Would they allow groups of us access to them so we could discuss our concerns and ask for action?

"Build community" is a common suggestion, but what does that look like for those of us who live in Magaville?

Forgive me for grousing, Margot. Part of me is simply at a loss.

I'd like us to boycott (#stopfeedingthemonsters) every one of the corps which have directly or indirectly supported (WaPo!) or benefited from His Dishonorable Low-ness, yet we know workers will be the first and worst to suffer.

*Stomach turning despair, yes, but that's not to say I've surrendered my joy.

I also have cut back on watching too much political news. I do not want this creature to ruin anymore of my life by thinking about him. I just plan to do on about my business and enjoy myself. He can't live forever. I think the whole bunch of them will be so incompetent that nothing will ever get done. I am proud of Joe. His son would have probably been in great danger with the new regime. He was treated very unfairly and every time I hear someone say the Biden Crime Family it makes me laugh. You are doing good work, Margot.

We cannot let them steal our joy! Take care of you, my friend. I agree about their ineptitude. Thank you!

Spot on, Margo! The Orange Felon and his band of Incompetents and Unqualifieds are in a circular firing squad formation. They’re already falling by the wayside when there’s too much scrutiny on their ‘qualifications’. I agree that we cannot stay glued to the political news but I feel I must stay informed in order to know when to fight back. I am old, old enough to be everybody’s grandma these days, so it seems! I have lived through many administrations and massive changes, failures, successes. Democracy prevailed over the worst of them.

I must continue to have faith in the intelligentsia of this country. The economists, the educators, the scientists, the arts, those in our institutions of higher learning. They are who we must trust to not allow the OF and his Project 2025 to demolish our democracy.

Yes to all of this! I am still a big fan of Maddow. O’Donnell, Reid, and Hayes are also doing good work. NYT and WaPo have been deeply disappointing. I follow an array of experts here and on BlueSky. I left YouTube when I left Meta, but you are right that we have to support the truth tellers and stay the course!
