I have a mantra for 2025. They will not steal my joy. It's a slippery slope between ignoring the ship show and being complicit. I'm aiming for ignore but keeping the corner of one eye open. As an importer of goods from Asia, my life and income could be greatly affected. But that's nothing compared to a scared 16-year-old girl in Texas finding herself accidentally pregnant or a migrant worker here to do the tasks none of us want to do so he can make a better life for his kids.
Whenever anyone called me "stubborn" as a child, my standard response was always, "I'm not stubborn, I'm tenacious!" Here's to holding on to our hope and our convictions and our connection in the coming year. Happy New Year!
I think my word is Center. I'm going to need it. To remember that I am a tree with deep roots and let the river flow around me. I am not an inner tube.

I, too, pick a word for the upcoming year, but haven't been able to find mine yet for 2025. Tenacity is a good one but not quite for me. I want to be positive but this is difficult right now. I'll keep you posted.

Jimmy truly lived the gospel message. He is an example for all of us. I will miss him.
Me too, Karen.
Jimmy Carter was definitely one of my favorite humans ever.
Exceptional in every sense of the word.
