Hello, Friend,
You may be asking yourself, what in the heck have I gotten myself into here? Fair question. I am a woman of many facets and this Substack (gestures wildly) is a virtual pu pu platter of awesome sauce. At least that’s what I’m telling myself. I spent many years as a design expert in the DIY Industry, so sometimes we make things! I’ve been making videos for many years and I have a rather unweildy cache of video content. I left Meta and YouTube in a bit of a flurry after the election and in doing so my many years of online video content went POOF. EGADS!
I’m getting to the point, hang in there.
I hate to waste all of this perfectly delightful content, so I will be dripping it out in bits and blobs every week along with the new content. One thing a day, five days a week. That’s my goal. As always, take what you need and don’t worry about the rest.
Also, my voice is still MIA, so today we’re traveling through time to make some ornaments together! (This was created for Reels, so I’ve repurposed it into a landscape mode for your craftertainment.) Grab the step by step instructions below.

Crystal Katana Tool (My friend Kellie DeFries is the creator and patent holder of this amazing tool and any copies are breaching her copyright. She’s a one woman show and well worth supporting…so this is not an affiliate link.)
Ball End Dotter Tools
Toothpick
Steps
Mark top center and insert screw eye.
Paint bottom of cork white.
Paint top of cork a color of your choosing. You may need two coats.
Add gold paint using various sized dotter tools.
Add glittered accents. I brushed crystal on stem, dabbed gold on mushroom spots, and placed the thicker glitter around the base of the mushroom.
Use toothpick to apply a small dab of glue to spot where you want to add a crystal. Pick up crystal and place using Crystal Katana Tool. Repeat as desired.
Add twine and hang on tree. MAKE MORE!
If you make some of these, I would LOVE to see them! Share and tag me in your posts! We can all use a little more sparkle these days, dontcha think?
Cheers, Madge
