T is for

A Treasury of T-words

Hello, Friend,

Today is Tuesday and, as such, we’re talking about things that begin with the letter ‘t’ (or spilling the tea on ‘t.’)

T is for truth…

…a thing that seems to be in short supply these days. Those who would twist the truth towards their own treacherous purposes in order to manipulate the general populace have been gaining ground globally. It is up to each of us to be diligent in the pursuit of the truth, especially as it becomes more elusive.

T is for treason…

…from the Latin word traditio, or betrayal. It is the crime of betraying your government, attempting to overthrow your government, or giving aid or comfort to hostile foreign powers. See Russian election interference and right wing media, also see treachery. This begs the question, how are those who have (according to the definition) committed treason about to take control?

T is for tariffs…

…a fee charged on goods imported from other countries which is paid for by elevating the cost of said goods resulting in higher prices for the consumer. I guess a lot of folks are going to find this out, including those of us who already knew what a profoundly bad idea they are.

T is for TFG…

…or he who shall not be named and should not have been nor should be again POTUS. A terrible toddler who tosses tomato based condiments during troublesome tantrums. There are various theories regarding the f-word in this anagram. I’ll leave it at that, since today is all about t-words. Turd is also a t-word…but I digress.

T is for theory…

…as in conspiracy theories. It seems we’re about to be governed by those who traffic in these half-truths and lies. The internet has amplified all manner of their absurdities resulting in a shocking number of theorists who think themselves ‘experts’ on all manner of topics. (See truth.) Is anybody actually excited about the return of polio, smallpox, or tetanus? Anybody?

T is for tired…

…which I am and I imagine you may be too. Bone tired, world weary, exhausted to the cellular level and yet…we must try to rally because the terrible, no good, very bad thing has only just begun.

T is for tenacity…

…something we will all need to tap into as we tread into these turgid waters. Some thoughts: hang some tinsel, brew some tea, meditate under the twinkle lights, trim the holiday tree (an ancient pagan ritual.) Take some time to recharge your tenacity, because you’re going to need it.
