Hello, Friend,
One year ago this week, Kamala entered the chat. Joy entered the Zeitgeist.
Remember that feeling? It was electric, like plugging directly into the life force of the universe. Buzzing, humming, pulsating through every cell. A joy so big, so bold, so powerful, it made us feel like anything was possible.
A joy so threatening that they’ve done every horrific, hateful, cruel thing they can imagine to stomp it out of us since.
People that cannot feel joy cannot stand to see other people feeling it.
We need to get that joy back, friend. We need to find the joy in resistance, the joy that comes from coming together to fight for what is good and true and righteous. We need to reclaim the joy that refuses to be denied, because that is where real power lies.
They know this. That’s why they steal it from us.
Don’t let them steal your joy.
Keep fighting the good fight, but don’t forget to slow your scroll, lift your gaze, and remember that joy.
It is your birthright.
Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Carpe gaudium*, Baby.
*Seize joy.

Joy, I found a lot at Raibow lake, Baldwin, Michigan, this weekend. I spent 3 days with family, floating on the lake and just enjoying the peace and quiet. It was awesome. I find joy in the little things and try to enjoy all the time I can. Your art work brings me much joy. Sparkle my wonderful friend 🥳🎉🎊♥️🍷🐑🐐🐮🐄🐦🦅🫂🐕🐩🧸🌈🦄🦊🎶
There's joy in little things, but yes - the world needs a giant dollop of joy in capital letters. With a huge side of empathy, and discipline. And my friend Carolien to clean up the massive mess!
