Hello, Friend,
If you’re wondering what this is, today’s post falls into the Margot Potter Studios bucket, which is part of the Margot Potter experience here on Substack! (You can opt in or out of the different sections in your settings.)
I’ve been offline for a few days trying to wrap up the never ending bear-a-thon. For a sense of scale, the cards are 4.5”x5.75”. I’m scanning the bears to save the images for other possible uses and packing them to ship.
Some bears have tiny eyes, some bears have big eyes. Some have watercolor backgrounds, some have embellished white backgrounds. The bears are painted in acrylic, after they dry I add more acrylic, acrylic markers, and glitter glue (no shed) accents. Every bear is unique.
I choose the bear(s), obvs.
Sung to the tune of Spam from Monty Python:
Bears, bears, bears, bears, bears, bears, bears bears!
The bear cards are heading to my dear friend Drew Emborsky’s Bear and Fox Yarn Den in Allegan, Michigan. It’s an LGBTQ+ owned yarn emporium and, therefore, bears (and foxes) have dual meanings.
It’s not fun always being the bearer of bad news…the bad news bear-er so to speak. At least for today, I’m the bearer of good news and good bears, the good news bear-er. Huzzah! I need some balance, how about you? There are more bears to share, which I shall sprinkle hither and thither as palette cleansers. Next up, foxes, but they will have to wait until next week as my virtual plate is overflowing.
Let’s grin and bear it, shall we?
Dig it? We’d love it if you share it! Thank you!
