Hello, Friend,
Happy FriYAY!
I’ve been thinking, as I do, about the days to come and how we might navigate them. We joke that our new rescue Frenchie, Truffles, is Moo Deng in dog form. I don’t think it’s an accident that Moo Deng arrived when she did, and I feel the same way about Truffles.
A day in the life of a Truffles:
Knick Knack tempting her from a low shelf? Truffles will free it! Warm lap on the couch? Leap over the big dogs to stand on it! Errant finger? Chew on it! Cold outside? Squat on the throw rug and pee on it!
She snores, she snorts, she farts, she licks! She does exactly what she wants in any given moment with gleeful abandon.
Don’t like it? Truff stuff, potato puff.
Truffles understands there are rules, but she also understands that rules are just guidelines and are, therefore, made to be bent and sometimes broken.
Truffles and Moo Deng have a lot to teach us about resistance. Big acts have impact, but big impact can also be found in small acts of defiance, in refusing to bend, in maintaining your ‘you-ness’…
Unhappy with the status quo? Stand on it, chew on it, pee on it, and free it!
When the rules defy logic, defy the rules.
Become ungovernable. It is the way.
Cheers, Margot and Truffles
(I have lost my voice, so no audio today, do forgive!)
Love love love this, “ Unhappy with the status quo? Stand on it, chew it, pee on it, and free it!
When the rules defy logic, defy the rules.
Become ungovernable. It is the way.”
Heck yeah!
P.S. Please say hello to Truffles for me. She reminds me of every Frenchie I’ve ever met - full of sass ;-)
I'm thinking Truffles may becoming my hero!
