Hello, Friend,
Well, FFS, it’s Friday again! This week has proved sweaty, elusive, and frustrating. We’re getting a much appreciated one day reprieve from the heat. I have 16 more foxes to bedeck and bedazzle to finish the last batch of cards for The Bear and Fox Yarn Den. I’ve decided to change their mouths once again. The set above has the more painterly mouths I plan to paint on the rest of the foxes. This means I have to repaint 27 fox mouths. Bleurk. I also added some soft graphite details to the white around their muzzles to distinguish them from the white backgrounds per a helpful comment from Llynn (thank you!) The amount of time I have spent on these foxes has turned this card order into my own personal art sweatshop, with extra sweat this week. As you can see, I’m making progress and they are starting to come together and, dare I say, look kinda cute?
Weird, but cute.

Between the heatwave, the fox-ing around with these foxes, the factory farmers dumping a poo swamp at the farm across the street yesterday leaving a heat dome induced putrid stench permeating the neighborhood, my heatwave induced need for cooler, not hideous, and also not expensive clothing (fashion’s holy grail) which the thrift gods did not provide, the relentless chaos from DC, my overall frustration at the struggling performance of this Substack, and the many, many pivots I’ve attempted at which I’ve somehow failed to thrive since ‘the thing that happened in Tennessee’…I’m feeling a lot of feelings. Those feelings hit the proverbial wall last night.
Feelings,
Whoa, whoa, whoa,
Feelings,
Whoa, whoa, whoa,
Feelings,
Wah, wah…wah.
That’s all I have to say about that.
I will finish these fox-ing foxes and I will find a way forward. Damn it. Hang in there, friend. I’ll try to do the same.
Whoa, whoa, whoa…
Can you dig it? We’d dig it if you shared it!

Those foxes are adorable! I think you figured out the mouths. It's good to focus on things you can do something about. I often wonder how people who follow all the dystopia to write their articles can stay sane. I get so upset just reading one for 5 minutes, and I think of all the hours it takes to write that article. I am amazed that there is any sanity left. It's ok to take a break, you know.
The foxes are still Foxtastic!! Take a break from the insanity of the Trump administration and just be you. Sparkle Sparkle ✨️
