Hello, Friend,
I’ve been digging back through my art archives (or artchives if you will. Not to be confused with art chives, which would be a fancy topping for a baked potato.)
Good lort.
Take two:
I’ve been digging back through my art archives in an attempt to form a plan moving forward. Looking through the two years of daily painting with a year’s distance to offer some perspective, I see progress, growth, and, dare I say, a voice beginning to emerge.
Pondering further…more to come.
In other art related news, I’m feeling birds at the moment. We have an ever changing array of them here in our little oasis. Today I saw a Baltimore Oriole perched on top of our Weeping Cherry! I did a triple take!
The new stock tank pool has proven a much needed respite from the madness. I’m trying to enjoy it every day, even if it does seem a little tragic floating around in what is basically an adult kiddie pool by myself while the dogs give me weird looks from the stairs.
I wrote a song about it yesterday.
It’s as awful as you think it is.
Everything is bursting in the garden beds with the excess rain we’ve been experiencing. I’m doing my best to battle the voracious and pernicious Japanese Beetles, making notes about which plants they enjoy and which they avoid for next years garden beds. (That is if we’re still here, which my lungs and my sanity hope we are not, but my bank account tells me is likely.)
Have I mentioned you can help support this frippery and my sanity with a very affordable paid sub?
Or perhaps a cup of coffee?
Ahem.
Cowbert and Lambert are enjoying the dearth of Horseberts. I try to bring them cookies or carrots daily. They bring me copious amounts of joy. It’s working out for us so far.
Oh! I forgot to tell you!
Houston, we have Frogbert! The frog pond is once again home to a hoppy amphibian. Woot!
With that, I must away to dream up new birds and questionable songs about floating in my kiddie pool.
Huzzah.
Dig it? We’d be ever so grateful if you like, comment, and/or share! Thank you!
I just adore these birds, and yes - there’s a definite voice emerging! It’s vibrant, whimsical, and uplifting, just like you! 🩷
I love your birds! So pretty ❤️
